The Cambridge Judo Club (also known as the Cambridge YMCA Judo Club) practices out of the YMCA of Cambridge. The club has been active for over 50 years and continues to provide quality judo instruction from NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) certified instructors who volunteer their time to give back to the sport they love.
The club is recognized and accredited by Judo Ontario and is one of many accredited clubs across Ontario. Judo Ontario is the only official governing body for judo in the Province of Ontario and provides the link to Judo Canada which is the National Sports Organization (NSO) for judo in Canada. Provincial Sports Organizations (PSOs) and NSOs provide the framework and support to develop athletes to be provincially, nationally, and internationally ranked. In the sport of judo, Canada has been competitive internationally and has won many medals since Judo became an Olympic sport in 1964.
